Parenting in the Age of Technology: Free Workshop for Parents

Navigating the terrain of raising children in this age of technology has become very tricky.  Did you know that...

  • On average, children in the U.S. are age 12.1 when they receive their first mobile device.  If the cognitive process is still maturing and developing until age 26, how can we expect our children to make healthy and sound judgments when overloaded and over-stimulated?
  • Almost 70% of pre-teens admit to hiding online activities from parents
  • Teenage girls are the #1 user of social media, while boys consume more video games
  • Studies show a direct link between increased online usage and an increase in depression and anxiety (Center for Media and Human Development)

There is no user manual for raising kids!  This workshop explains child and adolescent mental, social, and physical development in a way that will help parents understand what is happening and teaches concrete strategies to incorporate and manage technology in their families and homes.
