WEEKLY PROGRAM:

  • INDIVIDUAL or FAMILY THERAPY and/or FBT

  • DBT Skills Group (days and times based on age)

PROGRAM GOALS:

This goals of this program are to increase your tools as you navigate recovery and to provide valuable feedback and support from therapist and peers. The group is a combination of CBT/DBT Skills, skills application and processing.

Group topics will include:

  • managing relationships

  • learning to say no and stick to your values

  • being authentically you (who are you without your ED?)

  • alternative, healthy coping strategies

  • finding joy

  • tolerate emotional discomfort and pain

  • kicking avoidance out of your coping tool box

  • body acceptance

For people who:

  • Are actively in ED recovery or

  • Have recently been diagnosed with an eating disorder and require more support and skills

  • Enjoy processing with peers

  • Value practice and feedback

Objectives:

  1. Provide a safe, non-judgmental place to encourage and support each other

  2. Learn how Eating Disorders and urges are a symptom/symbol of other emotional issues

  3. Practice for "real world" dinner situations

  4. Nurture and encourage honesty about recovery

  5. Normalize struggles as a natural part of the recovery process and support group members through struggles

Mindsoother offers traditional outpatient psychotherapy which allow the client the autonomy and space to work through issues and feelings and create healthy thinking and strategies 1:1 with their therapist.

Family-Based Therapy: In addition, Mindsoother offers Family-Based Treatment (FBT) which is an evidence-based treatment that works with parents or caregivers and individuals to help you get your child nourished and healthy enough to then integrate more traditional one-on-one cognitive therapies.
